Fiber Cement Painting

Our coating boosts protection & fade durability to keep your fiber cement looking its best.

Your fiber cement is excellent, but it still has to be painted.

Fiber cement siding is extremely durable but also one of the most expensive forms of siding. While it takes little upkeep, it is porous and can absorb water. Waterproofing your fiber cement using a high-performance siding paint is the best method to protect your investment and avoid replacement.

Several variables can contribute to fading around the 10-year mark.

The best exterior coatings are designed to battle UV radiation and prevent fading better than traditional latex paints. Even with high-end fiber cement and its baked-on top coat, there are a number of reasons that can cause fading.

  • Intensity & duration of sun exposure: If one side of your house is totally exposed to the sun at its height, you should expect that side to fade faster than the others.
  • Colour: Darker colors absorb more light and reflect less of it, which causes them to fade faster.
  • Chemistry: Resins "hug" and encase pigments to shield them from direct sunlight exposure. The resin-to-pigment ratio of a paint will so influence how quickly it fades. Because resins are the most expensive component of paint, cheaper paints will often contain fewer resins in order to sell the paint at a reasonable price for the consumer. Less resin means greater fading and exposed colours.

Defend your fiber cement from efflorescence.

The migration of salt deposits to the surface of cement-based siding is known as efflorescence. When moisture seeks to escape the siding during evaporation, it picks up the natural salts and minerals in the substrate and deposits them on the surface, creating a white, powdery residue. Our siding paint forms a tight molecular, cross-linked connection that repels water and moisture, preventing efflorescence and keeping your siding looking like new for longer..

/ Frequently Asked questions

Our most common questions.

Does Maehunt have the only paint that can be used on aluminum and vinyl siding, stucco and Hardie-board, front and garage doors, windows, and brick?

Maehunt is not the only business that paints aluminum and vinyl siding, stucco, Hardie board, doors and windows, and brick. However, after years of research, rigorous testing, and collaboration with paint experts, we have developed bespoke formulations for each use. With our unique coatings and patented method, we can confidently give a 15-year no-peel warranty on all of our treatments to non-wood surfaces. Maehunt is the only firm that provides a factory lasting finish on each of these surfaces since it is all we do all day, every day!

Why can't a rusty surface be repaired by putting putty and then sanding it?

When rust appears on your front door, it is frequently too late to save it. When rust is visible, it signifies that the metal has already corroded behind the paint film. Even after eliminating the rust, there's no guarantee that it won't return, which can threaten the durability of a paint job. As a result, we avoid any rusty surfaces. We'd rather not set false expectations if we can't firmly stand behind our work.

Why can’t you paint a surface that has already been repainted?

We know that no one wants a painted surface with pull-through or hairline cracks. Our factory finishes are designed as an affordable alternative to replacement, ensuring your home’s beauty while also protecting it from chipped paint and other damage caused by weathering.
