Boost Protection and Longevity with Hardie Board Painting

Hardy Board, also known as fiber cement siding or Hardie Plank, is a favored choice among homeowners seeking a robust, low-maintenance siding solution. Despite its inherent resilience, it still necessitates meticulous painting and maintenance to uphold its longevity and visual allure. At Maehunt Home Services, we specialize in painting Hardie Board siding, offering services that amplify protection and fade resistance, ensuring your siding retains its charm for years.

Our Hardie Board painting services go beyond mere aesthetics. We understand that your home is more than just a building; it's a significant investment and a place where memories are made. Therefore, we are committed to helping you protect and enhance this valuable asset.

Fiber cement siding is among the more costly siding options, and safeguarding your investment is crucial. While Hardy Board demands minimal maintenance, its porous material nature can lead to water absorption, causing damage and deterioration over time. Our high-performance siding paint acts as a waterproofing agent for your fiber cement, protecting your investment and circumventing expensive replacements.

Our painting services are designed to combat the common issues associated with fiber cement siding, such as fading and efflorescence. We understand the factors contributing to these problems and use our expertise to provide solutions that keep your siding looking fresh and vibrant for longer.

For instance, we know that even the most premium fiber cement siding like Hardy Board, complete with its baked-on top coat and primer, is not immune to fading. Several variables can accelerate this process, including sun exposure, color absorption, paint chemistry, and climate. Our high-quality paints are formulated to withstand these factors, ensuring your new fiber cement siding maintains its color and appeal.

In addition, we offer solutions to protect your siding from efflorescence, a common issue where salt deposits migrate to the surface of the siding, leaving a white, powdery residue. Our specialized siding paint forms a robust, interconnected molecular barrier that effectively repels water, dirt, and moisture, preventing efflorescence and helping maintain the fresh look of your siding for a longer period.

At Maehunt Home Services, we take pride in offering comprehensive siding solutions that not only enhance the appearance of your home's exterior, but also protect your investment in Hardy Board siding. Contact us today to learn more about our services and schedule a consultation.

Safeguarding Your Investment with a Quality Paint Job on Fiber Cement Siding

Fiber cement siding, while being a premium choice for homeowners, is also one of the more costly siding options. Therefore, it's crucial to prioritize the protection of your investment. Despite its reputation for being low-maintenance, fiber cement siding is porous in nature. This means it can absorb water, which can lead to damage and deterioration over time.

To prevent this, it's essential to paint fiber cement siding with a high-performance paint. A quality paint job serves as a waterproofing measure, creating a barrier that prevents water absorption. This not only helps maintain the aesthetic appeal of your siding but also extends its lifespan, saving you from potential costly replacements in the future.

At Maehunt Home Services, we understand the importance of protecting your investment. That's why we offer top-notch painting services specifically designed for fiber cement siding. Our team uses high-quality, durable paint that not only enhances the look of your home but also provides the necessary protection against the elements.

Variables Contributing to Fading

Even with high-end fiber cement like Hardy Board, and its baked-on top coat, fading can occur due to several variables. The intensity and duration of sun exposure can cause one side of your house to fade faster than others. Darker colors absorb more light and reflect less of it, causing them to fade faster. The chemistry of the paint, including the resin-to-pigment ratio, can also influence how quickly it fades. Cheaper paints often contain fewer resins, leading to greater fading and exposed colors.

Enduring the Oklahoma Climate with Painting Fiber Cement Siding

The intense Oklahoma climate can be particularly harsh on fiber cement siding. The extreme heat, high winds, and sudden temperature changes can cause the siding to expand and contract, leading to potential damage. Hardy Board, however, stands up well to these conditions, especially when properly maintained with high-quality paint. At Maehunt Home Services, we understand the local climate and use products, materials and techniques specifically designed to protect your siding from the Oklahoma weather.

Understanding the Factors Contributing to Fading

Even the most premium fiber cement siding like Hardie Board, complete with its baked-on top coat and primer, is not immune to fading. Several variables can accelerate this process:

  1. Sun Exposure: The intensity and duration of sun exposure can cause uneven fading across your home. In the intense Oklahoma sun, this effect can be even more pronounced, causing one side of your house to fade faster than others.
  2. Color Absorption: Darker colors absorb more light and reflect less of it, causing them to fade faster. This effect can be exacerbated in the bright, often unrelenting, Oklahoma sunlight.
  3. Paint Chemistry: The composition of the paint, particularly the resin-to-pigment ratio, plays a significant role in how quickly it fades. Cheaper paints often contain fewer resins, leading to greater fading and exposed colors.
  4. Climate: The harsh Oklahoma climate can also contribute to the fading of your Hardie Plank siding. Extreme temperatures, high winds, and UV radiation can all accelerate the fading process.

Shielding Your Fiber Cement Siding from Efflorescence

Efflorescence is a common issue for cement-based sidings like Hardie Plank. This phenomenon occurs when salt deposits migrate to the surface of the siding. Here's how it happens: when moisture within the siding evaporates, it carries along natural salts and minerals. These salts and minerals then accumulate on the surface, forming a white, powdery residue that can detract from the aesthetic appeal of your siding.

The good news is, our specialized cement siding paint is designed to combat this issue. It forms a robust, interconnected molecular barrier that effectively repels water, dirt and moisture. This barrier not only prevents the occurrence of efflorescence but also helps maintain the fresh and appealing look of your siding for a longer period.

Moreover, it's important to note that efflorescence is not just a cosmetic issue. If left unchecked, it can indicate underlying moisture problems that could potentially damage your siding over time. Therefore, using our high-quality siding paint is not just about maintaining the appearance of your home, but also about protecting your investment in Hardie Plank siding. / Frequently Asked questions

Our most common questions.

Does Maehunt have the only paint that can be used on aluminum and vinyl siding, stucco and Hardie-board, front and garage doors, windows, and brick?

Maehunt is not the only business that paints aluminum and vinyl siding, stucco, Hardie board, doors and windows, and brick. However, after years of research, rigorous testing, and collaboration with paint experts, we have developed bespoke formulations for each use. With our unique coatings and patented method, we can confidently give a 15-year no-peel warranty on all of our treatments to non-wood surfaces. Maehunt is the only firm that provides a factory lasting finish on each of these surfaces since it is all we do all day, every day!

Why can't a rusty surface be repaired by putting putty and then sanding it?

When rust appears on your front door, it is frequently too late to save it. When rust is visible, it signifies that the metal has already corroded behind the paint film. Even after eliminating the rust, there's no guarantee that it won't return, which can threaten the durability of a paint job. As a result, we avoid any rusty surfaces. We'd rather not set false expectations if we can't firmly stand behind our work.

Why can’t you paint a surface that has already been repainted?

We know that no one wants a painted surface with pull-through or hairline cracks. Our factory finishes are designed as an affordable alternative to replacement, ensuring your home’s beauty while also protecting it from chipped paint and other damage caused by weathering. Backing up this claim is our commitment and we know that if we were to paint over a surface that has already been painted over your not going to get the results you want. So, in short, we want you to be a happy satisfied customer and that why we don't paint surfaces that have already be repainted.

Do you offer a wide variety of colors?

We use a combination of the most popular standard siding and door and window colors to provide maximum durability against premature fading and discoloration, as well as to apply the finishing touch of matching-colored caulking.  Although we can match any exterior paint color you have in mind, we can’t always provide the same optimal fade resistance or a matching caulking color.
